Hello all,
I know we are all trying to keep up with the fast pace of the COVID-19 situation, and with that, I wanted to reach out and connect with you all.
Please know that going forward while we are under directions from AHS to social distance and self-isolate when feeling ill, I am waiving the 24hr notice requirement to reschedule/cancel sessions without paying; if you wake up feeling ill, please let me know and stay home. I do not want anyone risking themselves or others while we try to manage this, and I know the financial pressures will be felt by us all. Saying that, I ask that you do tell me as soon as you can; in addition, I humbly request that instead of cancellation, you look at rescheduling or moving to an online video session, if you’re feeling up to it.
There is a lot of stress added to our world through such an experience, and the majority of us have never experienced something like this. Taking care of our mental health is very important while we navigate a new normal for a while. To help support you all, I want you to know that at the current time, if you are not ill, you are welcome to come to the studio for your sessions. We all will make sure we are doing our best efforts in keeping ourselves and our spaces clean. However, if you are practicing social distancing, and/or feel more comfortable with keeping your children/yourself home right now, please know that online video sessions are available to you.
Online Video Sessions:
– For those of you who do make art within the session itself, the change will be that you will need to have some simple art supplies at home. Plain paper, felt markers, crayons, pastels, pencils, plasticine/clay, magazines & glue, etc. can all be used. I can also email some colouring sheets, etc. to print out before the session, so we can colour together while we talk. We can get creative 🙂
– To use video sessions, all you need is a device with a camera, speakers, and microphone; an internet connection; and a private space for the duration of the session.
For those who would like to use a mobile device, there is a free Zoom app to download; On a laptop, you would be directed to the free Zoom program to use.
Please let me know if you have any questions at all. If I don’t hear differently, I will assume all scheduled appointments will be attending in person.
I appreciate that we as a world are all moving to take care of each other, and that is really, really important to hold on to. We are all connected and if you are in need, please reach out. On the other side of that, let’s all check in with our people and make sure everyone is doing okay.
Take care of yourselves, and each other.
Blessings,
Nikki Featherstone (she/her)
