Under the current system of patriarchy, we are programmed to live in survival. To compete with each other for resources.
To be distrustful of others and keep our walls up.
Under the current system, we are disempowered and are harmed.
We harm each other.
Some of the deepest cuts we experience are from other women who have internalized the system of dominance and exploitation.
Sisters. We need to grieve this truth. And we need to feel the righteous rage of being placed into a system that creates it.
We need to heal the wounds we carry AND the program inside that we didn’t ask for, so we can begin to do the work that the world is desperately crying for.
Re-wilding. Restoring the systems centered around care.
Re-worlding. Finding which roles in the herd that sing to our souls. What part of the return to matriarchy we can take up as our own, to weave together a new story.
A new world.
The current hierarchical systems built upon domination are a blip in the human timeline. An anomaly. Like horses, and many other mammals and nature allies, we have been matrilineal and matriarchal for most of human history.
Not a reverse of what we have now – no. Matriarchy is not hierarchal and never has been. It is circular.
Systems of collaboration and council. Systems of care. Systems centering the vulnerable.
Systems of leadership, not domination.
When the lead mare moves, the whole herd moves with her. They look to her wisdom to guide them. They trust she will lead them to safety, not dominate and exploit them. The mares, and the stallion at the back, protect the young. The vulnerable.
Our Ancestors have called upon the Great Mare to guide them in times of Threshold.
We are once again in times of Threshold.
We will call upon Her once again,
to lead us in this immersive, challenging, & potent healing work.
Grief.
Rage.
Reflection.
Facing Shadow.
Finding Forgiveness.
Receiving Love.
Taking our place in the Herd.

🌿 This is NOT another ‘weekend away to relax, journal, and yoga’ – while Haven’s retreats definitely build in space for personal time on the Land, writing to come into relationship with Self, and movement of bodies in ways to attune and somatically connect – the focus is on DEPTH work.
We dare to look and seek and immerse ourselves in the Underworld; we sink, get messy, grieve, howl, and curse; we turn towards that which the world tells us to reject and hide; and even afraid, we Journey into dark corners and spaces, bringing healing and love with us.
