The Journey Begins

And begins, and begins, and begins.

The Irish have this beautiful greeting: Céad Mìle Fàilte, which translates into ‘a hundred thousand welcomes’. It resonates deeply within my Soul, because it speaks to how we continuously meet our journey over and over and over again, spiraling in, and spiraling out… there is no true beginning, because there is no true end.

As an artist and an Art Therapist, I see this present itself again and again within my life and my practice. We walk the footpath together, spiraling around to new insights over the old bones of hurts and pain and material often thought long past. I frequently hear “I thought I healed this part of my story” when those old bones show up in the dirt. And I smile, remembering every time I too experienced that frustration of being ‘back here again’ ~ until I finally went far enough, widened my eyes enough, to behold the spiral path I was on, and understood there is no linear line we walk. Our past runs along our now, just as the future is on the other side, if we but shift our focus.

Each day dawns with a new page in our story; each moment another opportunity to fully engage with the path we are travelling. As the seasonal Wheel turns and the first Celtic fire festival of Imbolc presents the quickening of the New ~ breathe into the spiral that you walk. Widen your eyes, shift your focus, and See all the opportunities that surround you. Infinite possibilities. I hope you turn to each and every one and say “Céad Mìle Fàilte” ~ A Hundred Thousand Welcomes 💖
